SAUDI Blog – Tell us a summary of the history of Unimed João Pessoa.
Jessica: Unimed João Pessoa is a medical work cooperative with 50 years of tradition in the Paraíba market. Over these five decades, it has established itself as the best and largest health plan operator in Paraíba.
SAUDI Blog – In your view, what are the main challenges facing healthcare providers after the emergence of the pandemic?
Jessica: Our biggest challenge, without a doubt, was and is maintaining the same level of quality in services given the high demand. The shortage of trained employees in the intensive care area was also another critical and relevant point. For the next few years, I believe the biggest challenge will be maintaining and expanding the number of new users.
SAUDI Blog – How is the operator dealing with these challenges?
Jessica: Investing, expanding the number of employees and physical intensive care areas, as well as expanding telemedicine services.
SAUDI Blog – Is there actually or is there any expectation of a bottleneck in the use of the plan at this time?
Jessica: At this point, it can be said that in terms of assistance, the plan is meeting the most crucial needs.
SAUDI Blog – Was there growth in the operator during the pandemic?
Jessica: Yes. The search for services has increased as a whole.
SAUDI Blog – Does Unimed João Pessoa plan any expansion for 2022?
Jessica: Yes. Expansion planning is part of the operator's policy. It's inherent.
SAUDI Blog – What was your problem before meeting SAUDI?
Jessica: An analytical audit and billing of medical bills without many resources and autonomy.
SAUDI Blog – How did you find out about and why did you decide to implement SAUDI?
Jessica: Recommended by a partner Unimed. Next, our production analysts went to see SAUDI on site.
SAUDI Blog – Did you have any difficulty starting to use SAUDI?
Jessica: None. The system is very didactic and the consultancy is very effective.
SAUDI Blog – What are the main pain points that SAUDI solves in Unimed João Pessoa’s routine?
Jessica: Significantly facilitates audit processes. One of our biggest gains was the parameterization and automation of the rules of the medical audit manual.
SAUDI Blog – What has your experience been like using SAUDI’s “medical monitoring” module?
Jessica: Our nursing and nutrition team are responsible for using the tracking module. The experience is very cumulative, as the professionals involved carry out a thorough analysis of hospital beds based on the criteria established by the operator, improving the work of the retrospective audit.
SAUDI Blog – Would you like to pass on a message to healthcare operator managers?
Jessica: It is a fact that we are facing times of change and learning in the global health scenario and one of the great lessons is the importance of technology as an ally. Therefore, it is necessary to maintain an operator that is more connected and open to innovation, always advocating humanization in processes.
