Prisma Dynamic Panel

One of the main objectives of the ANS prism panel is to show the evolution of the economic-financial data of the sector and by type of group of health operators.

From 2010 to 2019, the Prism panel was released in publication format. However, from 2020 onwards, it became a dynamic panel, where it can be consulted at any time

It is divided into 3 large groups and their subgroups, they are:

1. Consolidated Data from the Supplementary Health Sector

Consolidated data by modality:

Which includes self-management, medical cooperative, philanthropy, group medicine, specialized health insurance company.

Consolidated data for Revenue and Expenses:

They contain effective consideration and net compensable events.

2. Guarantee Assets and Technical Provisions

Guarantee assets by type:

Dedicated funds (agreements), real estate, bonds and private securities, in addition to public bonds (SELIC).

3. Economic-financial indicators (weighted and unweighted)

The panel shows data from operators that are exclusively dental and medical-hospital.

Where is the data that guarantees the veracity of the information on the prism panel taken from?

Prisma's economic-financial values and indicators are extracted from accounting statements, Periodic Information Documents from Supplementary Health Care Plan Operators (DIOPS), and other information passed from operators to ANS.

However, not all supplementary healthcare providers are required to send this data to the ANS annually; small dental clinics, for example, do not need to send the data between the 1st and 3rd quarter of each year.

Therefore, to update the panel, as a strategy, data from the 4th semester were used to monitor developments in this period.

Other health operators must send economic and financial reports to ANS every quarter, and SAUDI is the medical bill audit software which will help in issuing these reports in an automated and quick way.

This is just one of the many facilities for auditing medical bills that SAUDI brings as a benefit to the partner healthcare operator, as the focus is to manage better to increase revenue, for example, with new sales.

The result in the profitability of healthcare providers that use SAUDI to audit medical bills is surprising in the first few months of use.

Accounting dashboard update

Just like the prism panel, the supplementary health accounting panel was also updated with data from the second quarter of 2022 by ANS, and is now available for consultation.

“The Supplementary Health Accounting Panel is a data panel from the National Supplementary Health Agency (ANS), which presents data from the financial statements of all health plan operators.” (excerpt taken from the accounting panel).

All this data is made available in an open and transparent manner on the ANS Portal, and on the Open Data Portal with the aim of being shown dynamically to anyone interested.

Using the panel, it is possible to analyze the accounting data of the entire supplementary health sector by operator, modality or segment, divided into 5 groups. Are they:

  • active
  • passive
  • income and expenses
  • results
  • indicators

How accounting data from complementary health operators are extracted

Operators need to update Beneficiary Information Systems (SIB), the Periodic Information Documents of Health Care Plan Operators (DIOPS), and the Operator Registration System (CADOP) of accounting statements, so that all this data is extracted and updated in the ANS accounting panel.

In the update made by ANS in the prism and accounting panels in June 2022, it is possible to see in detail the graphs of the entire financial landscape of the healthcare sector in the first half of the year, with the comparison since 2018.
